Probably the best is my reading of one of my favourite pieces Loves Down Tango. It's a 25 minute recording and you can find it here:

http://memoiresofaheroinhead.blogspot.fr/2014/06/loves-down-tango.html

As for me and Mr Doherty, well, we've some nice ideas on what we can do together to mix music, literature, poetry and narration and so hopefully some time in the not too distant you'll maybe be able to hear that or if you're really unlucky be able to pay to see us perform! Watch this space... well, my FB space for further news... "I drank a quart of whiskey and took a shot of smack. By the time I arrived in town I was pretty damn loaded."

If I'd have had more time (or in a second draft) I'd have almost certainly started the little text I wrote for Peter with such a line about the typewriter. Only after the first comment did i go through the post again and realized that you probably wanted it to mean something more than just a type-writer loaded with paper. But I'm not sure of my deductions. Did you mean like a gun or like high on something? I know it must be frustrating for you but please clarify. I was going to go further with such descriptions but didn't want to end up giving the impression I was hinting too much at other things.

I think I need to live what I'm writing... understand at least a part of the people and lives I am witnessing and describing. It brings everything back to a very personal expression whereby even if I am portraying someone else, in a certain way it is more about my existence than theirs. I don't mean that in an egotistical way, but in an artistic way whereby everything is really a self-portrait rather than a portrait of someone else. I think also that I've always understood that I've the wherewithal to live it and observe it and have always been eager to do so. Even on my descent into addiction I remember telling myself that if I was going down that road then I wanted to observe and document that, study the psychological effects of addiction and also observe and record the breakdown of my own body. So even getting into this I always had one eye on that and documenting an extreme experience.
